There are four types of laser printer toner that are available in the market. The first type are inkjet and toner cartridges that manufacturers have produced as part of their brand. These are known as OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturer. The second are ‘Compatible’ or ‘Generic’ toner cartridge that is manufactured to match the OEM toner cartridges. These are more affordable than the original ones. The third type is called a Refurbished or Remanufactured toner cartridge that are the result of OEM recycling. The last and the most inexpensive method are ‘Refill Kits’.

It is a great idea to recycle toner cartridges. If you throw your cartridge away, it occupies landfills and can take from 450-1000 years to decompose. Thus it adversely affects the environment. If you recycle, it would help you to save the environment.
